I have loved my baby boy every single second – he is the light of my life. My occasional mixed feelings don’t make me a bad person. They make me human. Some days I am better at believing this than others.
Lesson #16 – Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do.
Why couldn’t I ask for more information so that I could understand why it wasn’t necessary? What had I said that was so offensive?
Lesson #12 – What I wish I knew one year ago (A note to me ) – Part 2
In just a couple of weeks you are going to wake up just before midnight and it will be because your waters have broken (thank you induction!). When you call the Midwife and tell her that you felt a popping sensation in your belly, she is going to sound doubtful. That’s okay. Don’t be too perturbed,…
Lesson #12 – What I wish I knew one year ago (A note to me ) – Part 1
Welcome to being 37 weeks pregnant! Guess what preggo? Your life is about to change. Things will never ever be the same again, and that’s okay. In fact, it is pretty wonderful. Believe me, I know. My pregnancy was not announced at work until I was 12 weeks, and apart from my boss and one or two people our news was on the down low so it was business as usual (well, kind of!). I tried very hard to keep my shizz together and act like everything was normal but the…

Actually, my little fantasy involved me being impeccably dressed and leaning over a pregnancy test, holding hands with my husband (who would also be impeccably dressed) watching and praying that it would be positive. Apparently not in reality. I didn’t feel how I thought I should and that was a shock.
