Episode #18 – I was once a full-time party girl. Oh how things have changed!
Instead of having dozens of options of things to wear, the choices at present are narrowed drastically by what’s clean and what might fit. I grabbed a cute grey dress out of the cupboard and held it up against myself. The possibility of greasy or dirty little hands leaving marks on the light coloured silk fabric was too much of a risk. Plus, wearing the dress meant making a trip to the dry cleaner sometime in the future. Why do I still own things that are dry clean only?
Lesson #10 – When you have a baby your motherly instincts will kick in right away (Unless you’re me)

When I announced that I was pregnant, I was absolutely overwhelmed by the advice and the questions that I received from not only my friends and family, but random people. My absolute fave thing was unsolicited advice on pregnancy and labour from people who had never been pregnant. Yes, please impart all of your wisdom…
Lesson #1 – Reality isn’t nearly as bright and shiny as the fantasy (well not usually)
I’ve seen videos on YouTube where women find out they are pregnant and are beyond happy or when they tell their partner they will be a daddy. I had always fantasised that I would have that moment. Actually, my little fantasy involved me being impeccably dressed and leaning over a pregnancy test, holding hands with my husband (who would also be impeccably dressed) watching and praying that it would be positive. Apparently not in reality. I didn’t feel how I thought I should and that was a shock.
